Speaking at php|tek in Chicago

I will have three busy days at this year's php|tek conference in Chicago.

First up, I will co-host a PHP Code Review on the tutorial day together with my new partners at thePHP.cc, Arne Blankerts and Sebastian Bergmann.

On the first conference day, I will present a new talk, Dissecting an MVC Application. In this session, I will show code examples from a real-world MVC application and framework, and demonstrate how it has evolved over time. This talk will be a great introduction into what MVC is, and especially how to get MVC right for a web application.

On the second conference day, I will give another new presentation, Seven Steps to Better OOP Code. This talk presents various best practices for OOP and how to apply them in the real world. The "Seven Steps" idea is borrowed from my successful talk Seven Steps to Better PHP Code, which I have given at various conferences throughout the world, and also presented as a two part webinar for Zend.

I am already very excited to be a part of php|tek again, and looking forward to travelling to Chicago. As always, there will be a lot of old friends to catch up with, and new friends to make.
